Plypodium vulgare Linn, is a fern of the family Polypodiaceae. The rhizome is used in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine for several application including dropsy, jaundice, and scurvy. Also, P. vulgare has been used as anti-inflammatory, analgesic, digestive, antiviral, antispasmodic, digestive, hypotensive, and expectorant. Studies have shown several phytochemicals in the rhizome with pharmacologic activities.
