Equisetum arvense belongs to the Equisetopsida family, commonly known as Horsetail is a plant native to the Arctic and temperate regions of the northern hemisphere.
Traditionally, Horsetail has been used as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, for fluid retention (oedema), kidney stones, urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence. It has also been used for the treatment of baldness, joint diseases, osteoarthritis, among others. Also, Horsetail contains flavonoids and organic silicon that helps strengthen bones and nails.
